Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission has not been published before and has not been submitted for another journal (otherwise please explain under „Comments for the Editor“), or it is a submission for the section „Reports and Notices“. Submissions in this section may have already been published elsewhere (if so, please explain under „Comments for the Editor“).
- The text is submitted in one of the following formats: Word-Document (docx) or RTF.
- The text follows the citation style of the journal. (Note: At the moment, this documentation is in German only. If you cannot read it, please tick this option nonetheless and just give the references in any style. We will adapt your references in the course of the editorial process.)
- Illustrations:
- Please do only use illustrations for which you have a usage right (either because you own these rights yourself or because the rightholders have given these rights).
- Please upload all illustrations as separate files. In the text file, you can either embed the illustrations at a suitable position or mark the position where the illustrations should appear.
- Files for illustrations should be uploaded in the original quality, without any compression. Images/photos should be uploaded in JPG (high resolution) or TIF (300 dpi, optionally with an LZW compression) or as SVF/PDF (vector data).
- For author identification please use an ORCID ID (Information on the advantages of ORCID ID can be found at https://www.orcid-de.org/autorinnenidentifikation-mit-orcid-warum-fuer-wen/ (in German)).
- As far as possible, URLs have been added to the references supplemented by the date of the last check.
- A short abstract in English and German is provided at the beginning of the text (if you do not speak German, an English abstract will suffice), or the submission is not a full paper or a paper for a special issue and therefore doesn’t need an abstract (e.g., submissions in the sections „Reports and notices“ or „Reports about a conference“).
Full papers
Für wissenschaftlich abgesicherte Fachbeiträge. Bitte ergänzen Sie Ihren Beitrag um ein Abstract in deutscher und englischer Sprache.
Papers in a special issue
Für Beiträge, die im Rahmen eines Themenschwerpunkts erscheinen sollen (nach vorheriger Absprache).
Praxisberichte
Primär deskriptive Praxisberichte (z.B. Darstellung einzelner Projekte oder spezifischer Entwicklungen an einer bestimmten Bibliothek). Abstracts werden für diese Beiträge nicht publiziert.
Autor*innenangaben mit Affiliation und ggf. ORCID-ID bitte am Ende des Beitrags eintragen.
“Praxisberichte” werden von den o-bib-Herausgeber*innen begutachtet.
Reports about a conference
Für Berichte über Tagungen, Fortbildungsveranstaltungen etc. - auch von der BiblioCon (ohne Peer Review). Abstracts werden für diese Beiträge nicht publiziert.
Autor*innenangaben mit Affiliation und ggf. ORCID-ID bitte am Ende des Beitrags eintragen.
“Tagungsberichte” werden von den o-bib-Herausgeber*innen begutachtet.
Reports and notes
Für kleinere Beiträge und Meldungen (ohne Peer Review). Ein Abstract wird nicht publiziert.
"Berichte und Mitteilungen" werden von den o-bib-Herausgeber*innen begutachtet.
Views - Insights - Discussion
Einreichungen in dieser Rubrik bitte nur nach vorheriger Absprache. Ein Abstract wird nicht publiziert.
Reviews
Für Rezensionen von Fachliteratur. Bitte vor der Einreichung Kontakt mit der Redaktion aufnehmen. Ein Abstract wird nicht publiziert.
Reports from the Association of German Librarians (VDB)
Für Beiträge, die im Verbandsteil erscheinen sollen (z.B. Berichte aus Kommissionen oder Landes- und Regionalverbänden). Ein Abstract wird nicht publiziert.

Autor*innen behalten das Urheberpersönlichkeitsrecht und gewähren der Zeitschrift o-bib das Recht der Erstveröffentlichung im Sinne eines einfachen Verwertungsrechtes. Das Werk erscheint unter der Creative Commons Attribution Lizenz (CC BY 4.0). Diese erlaubt es anderen, das Werk mit einem Hinweis auf die Urheberschaft des Werkes und die Erstveröffentlichung in dieser Zeitschrift zu teilen.

Nach der Erstveröffentlichung in o-bib können Autor*innen ihr Werk jederzeit anderweitig publizieren, in einem Repositorium einstellen o.Ä. und bei Bedarf entsprechende separate vertragliche Vereinbarungen treffen, die eine Verbreitung neben der in o-bib veröffentlichten Version des Werkes vorsehen. Es sollte dann auf die Erstveröffentlichung in o-bib hingewiesen und möglichst auch der DOI angegeben werden.
