Vorschlag für eine kooperative Webarchivierungsinfrastruktur

Abstract

Against the backdrop of the ongoing loss of digital cultural heritage, this article describes the need for and the potential of expanding web archiving initiatives through training and infrastructure development. The paper describes a series of introductory workshops on web archiving held at the Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek in Berlin, as well as the framework concept for participatory web archiving developed at the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin. It proposes a minimal solution for a cooperative web archiving infrastructure based on the Browsertrix software to address the ongoing loss and the needs identified in the workshop series.
