The consulting workflow of the Data Center for the Humanities (DCH) at the University of Cologne

Research data from the humanities are enormously heterogeneous. The needs and requirements for the management of this research data are correspondingly diverse. For university data centers, which are often the first points of contact for researchers in this context, this diversity poses a major challenge. Establishing technical and procedural standards plays a key role in setting up infrastructures for research in the humanities. However, close networking between different research data centers with complementary profiles is necessary in order to serve all needs in humanities research data management in an alliance. This article presents the Data Center for Humanities (DCH) of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Cologne. The focus is on the generic-formalized consulting workflow of the data center and its integration into local, regional, national and international networks.
